Wayne Gretzky sets a Stanley Cup record, with his 8th career playoff hat trick (and adding an assist as well to boot) beating the Leafs and sending The Kings to the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals.

Patrick Roy makes NHL history as the first goaltender to start in 100 straight playoff games for one team, when the Avalanche played The New Jersey Devils, in Game 2 of the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals.

One week after he was fired by the Boston Bruins, Don Cherry is named coach of the Colorado Rockies. Soon the franchise is moved and becomes The New Jersey Devils.

Wayne Gretzky scores once and assists on three goals, to set single-year playoff records for assists & points, beating The Flyers to win the 1985 Stanley Cup!

In 2002, Dominik Hasek makes his second consecutive playoff shutout against the Colorado Avalanche, and sets an NHL record with his 5th shutout in one playoff year.

40-year-old Ray Bourque becomes the oldest player to score a goal in the Stanley Cup Finals. The goal was a power play game winner in the third, securing the 2001 Stanley Cup for The Avalanche!
